Scientist-Encyclopedist (On the Occasion of Prof. Magomed Abdullaevich Abdullaev’s 90th Anniversary of Birth and 70th Anniversary of Scientific, Pedagogical, Social and Political Activity)

The article is devoted to the scientific and creative activity of M.A. Abdullaev, a prominent Dagestan and Russian philosopher. The paper focuses on a wide range of problems under the scientist’s study, including those of Sufism and Islam theology in Northern Caucasus, issues of social philosophy and national relationships. But particular attention in his diverse activity is paid to the study of philosophic, social and political ideas in Dagestan, which is known to be a constituent of Russian Philosophy. It is due to Magomed Abdullaevich that dozens of ingenious Dagestan philosophers and political personalities have been discovered and reanimated. He is an active supporter of our national moral and cultural heritage, this activity being promoted by Sheikh Abdurahman-
Haji as-Suguri Regional Theological and Educational Fund, initiated by Prof. Abdullaev.
The article accentuates that Magomed Abdullaevich is both an academic scientist and a brilliant publicist, whose publications proved to be of great value in difficult and crucial years. It is emphasized that his rich pedagogical experience has become an essential factor in training several generations of specialists of various profiles.
