Features of the Ethnic Structure of Settlements of Don Delta in the 19th Centure

The article analyzes the ethnic structure of the population of Don Delta in the 19th century. Using the method of statistical data analysis, the percentage of ethnic groups, that inhabited the Don Delta during the 19th century, is calculated. The author also identifies main features of ethnic transformations in Don Delta during the 19th century and describes the assimilation processes in this region during this period. It is concluded that the ethnic landscape of Don Delta by the end of the 19th century has become much more irregular than at the beginning of the century, in particular, the number of mono-ethnic settlements has decreased several times.
