The Native Language Image as a Factor of Multicultural Integration

An interdisciplinary perspective, based on the achievements of political linguistics, on theoretical developments in the fi elds of cognitive and sociolinguistics, cultural linguistics, as well as bi- and polylingualism, underlies the research. The paper describes a diverse Ossetian and Russian-language material, including the sites of the parliaments and governments of North and South Ossetia both in the genre of offi cial greetings and information overviews, as well as the results of a population blitz survey. The article demonstrates, within the framework of the integration approach, a harmonious multicultural communicative space formed as a result
of the general humanitarian strategy application, the preservation and development of all languages and cultures to strengthen their spiritual community in the places of ethnic Ossetians residence – North and South Ossetia, Conceptual analysis of statements about the native language importance for the preservation of ethnic identity shows a highly significant index of the Ossetian language not only for Ossetians, but also for other peoples inhabiting these republics. The text fragments indicate that other peoples perceive the cultural and language specificity of the regions under consideration as “the spirit of their native land,” taking into account the historically unifying role of the Russian language and culture in interethnic and intercultural interaction. The research focuses on the Ossetian language metaphorical image in the Ossetian-Russian picture of the world that are objectified by 15 varieties of cognitive metaphors: astronomical, basic, historical, connective, cultural, psychological, religious, materialistic, metaphor of the receptacle, metaphor of luminescence, conventional, floristic, otherness. evolutionary.
The conceptual models architectonics for representing the Ossetian language image varies from single constructions to combined and cluster constructions, which are complicated on the basis of addiction and refi nement. Comparative metaphorical models constitutes a special type.
