Religious Ideology in the Post-secular Russian Society

The article deals with recognizing features of religious ideology in the contemporary Russian society. The activity of the Russian Orthodox Church is investigated as a representative example of expansion of the religious ideology in it. The article defines that the specificity of religious ideology consists in attributing the main guidelines of social activity to the sphere of the sacred; religious ideology forms a picture of society based on the values and doctrinal principles of religion; it doubles the basis of its assessments; it is expressed not only in documents, but also in the statements of religious authorities and the activities of believers; religion itself does not create political programs, but legitimizes existing ones in general or in separate parts, or does not legitimize them. The conclusion of the article contains the idea that of all the functions of religious ideology in the contemporary Russian society, it is mainly mobilization.
