In the methodological part of the paper brief review for the content of concepts «living experience», «recollection» and the image of «the eternity coming back» is given and it is stressed that the paper is written from the holistic positions. The authors outline the following features of living experience of the past:
1. Its diff erence from the culture memory, the entire subjectivity of recollection and its belonging to the inner world;
2. The duality of the real that is experienced by a person since the recollection is going up to the actual row of events and the past and the present prove to be combined in a unit;
3. The wholeness and sensitivity of repeated recollection of the past in which a valuable fragment of the person’s life is given;
4. Positive recollections are less reinterpreted than the negative ones and receive a new interpretation only in the view of new facts.
In the second part of the article, kinds of existentially meaningful intervals of the past and their ways of being are considered.
In particular, we consider intentional and spontaneous recollections also positive and negative ones. Spontaneous recollections come unexpectedly. If they are positive, they give experienced feelings of happiness and gladness ones more. They enlarge the good relation to reality and self-evaluation. To be repeated they are never proves boring in difference of the repeated outer events. Intentional positive recollections are used in psycho-therapy for stabilizing the inner world. Repeated negative recollections are the subject of therapy especially if they are caused not by outer event but by a neurosis.
