Theoretical and Methodological Approaches to the Study of about the Relationship between the Center and the Regions in the 1960s and 1990s

Purpose: The article is devoted to the analysis of the features of studying the history of ideas about the relationship between the center and the regions in Soviet and post-Soviet Russia in a historical and comparative retrospective. Certain aspects of the scientifi c development of the problem are touched upon, as well as an integrated approach to the choice of a source base, special historical research methods is analyzed.
Methods: To study the problem posed, the optimal combination of historical research methods is: historical-comparative, historical-typological, historical-retrospective, historical-anthropological. The research is based on a complex of published and unpublished sources. For example, the article uses documents of state authorities, program documents, charters and other documents of regional and central party and public organizations, articles and speeches of political leaders, interviews of participants of events, published memoirs, data of public examinations.
Results: Specifi c historical examples of concepts that have caused a response both from representatives of state authorities at all levels and from society are given.
Discussion: Given the important contribution that conceptual turns in historical science allow us to study the problem of the history of ideas about the relationship between the center and regions at the latest stage, relying on a complex of inter - and intradisciplinary methods in their close relationship.
