Apology of Modern Philosophy
The article is devoted to the transformation of the status of philosophy in the system of spiritual culture of modern society.
There is a signifi cant decline in the prestige and recognition of the value of philosophical knowledge among the diverse sociocultural groups. Particular attention is paid to the dismissive or negative attitude towards philosophy on the part of the ruling elite.
The main manifestations of the crisis of philosophy in the modern world are investigated, which are divided into technical and axiological.
The technical manifestations include the fragmentation of philosophical knowledge, its internal diff erentiation, reaching the alienation of branches of philosophy from each other, the pluralization of philosophical concepts. The axiological manifestations
of the crisis of philosophy include the dehumanistic devaluation of traditional values, their relativization and exclusion from philosophical discourse. The responsibility for the diseases of modern philosophy lies not only with it itself, but also with the global crisis of spirituality in the modern post-industrial world. Philosophy comes out of the crisis in the actualization of the humanistic mission of philosophy, in overcoming its internal shortcomings and in the return by philosophy of leadership in the spiritual life of mankind.
