The aim of the article is to present the national phraseological picture of the world as part of the linguistic picture of the world in the context of an anthropocentric approach to language learning. The characteristics of a person in the language, his worldview and value system are revealed in the process of representing the concept of “jan” "soul "as part of phraseological units based on the material of the literary text of K. Korkmazov's novel “Gorda Bychak” "The Sword of Revenge".

people. The phraseological units with the concept of “jan” "soul" extracted from the text of the novel, being a national-cultural indicator and an expressive means in the literary text, describes the religious, moral, ethical, patriotic ideas and the spiritual world of the people, as well as the personal qualities of a person and the motives of his actions. Although the novel is based on an actionpacked confl ict between the oppositions "wealth" and "poverty", the work shows that the true value is recognized as the soul of the people – its spiritual wealth, moral purity, contained in the phraseological units of the Karachay-Balkar language. It is established that the phraseological units in the text of the novel also represent the author's conceptual sphere, expressing his moral and ethical potential and value orientation in relation to positive and negative characters, various situations.
