The paper presents the scientific results of the implementation of the grant of the President of the Russian Federation on the diagnosis of Islam in the Republic of Adygea by the research team of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology
of the Adyghe State University. The focus is not only on the theoretical studies of the state and transformation of Islam in the region, but also on practical conclusions and recommendations based on the results of a sociological survey conducted using
the questionnaire method and the expert interview method. The paper analyzes such issues as Muslim identity, the degree of religiosity of young people, cult and ritual practice, etc.
