Caucasian Studies Angles in the Research of Scientists of the Southern Federal University (2007–2020): History, Sociology, Geopolitics

The presented article examines research practices in the field of history, sociology and geopolitics, facing the Caucasus and developing within the organizational framework of the Southern Federal University. The authors analyze the institutional organization
of Caucasian studies and intellectual trends in the university space. Special attention is paid to new methodological approaches that provide an adequate interpretation of socio-economic, political and cultural phenomena in the regional space. Caucasian Vedic studies are considered in the context of scientific continuity, due to the previous development of social and humanistic knowledge.
Within the framework of a consistent analysis, the most significant works that determined the real evolution of the author's worldview, a consistent increase in empirical material and the improvement of theoretical constructions were obtained. The presented article also contains a complex characteristic of differentiated socio-cultural factors that had a direct impact on the systemic construction of the university's Caucasian tradition. A significant direction should be recognized as the systemic diagnostics of the cultural and historical dialogue that develops within the framework of the historical and graphic process and forms the socio-political
characteristics of a multiethnic and confessional differentiated region. A comprehensive analysis of the results achieved allows not only to determine the objective level of scientific knowledge, but also to outline the fundamental guidelines for the further development of research practice.
