Spreading the Ideas of Marxism and Activity of E.V. Torsueva-Bystritskaya in the Ranks of the Don Committee of the Russian Social Democratic Workers Party

Purpose: The article is devoted to the analysis of the spread of Marxist ideas and the activities of revolutionary circles on the Don. One of the most interesting and still relevant topics is the emergence and development of the Don Committee of the RSDLP, as well as the activities of Ekaterina Viktorovna Torsueva-Bystritskaya in its ranks.
Methods: Some aspects of the scientific development of the problem are touched upon, as well as an integrated approach to the choice of a source base, special historical research methods is analyzed. To study this problem, the optimal combination of historical research methods is: historical-retrospective, historical-anthropological. The research is based on a complex of published and unpublished sources. It is noted that the historiography of the problem of the spread of Marxism in the country as a whole, and in the Don region, in particular, is currently being formed.
Results: The author draws a conclusion about the main types of propaganda work of the first Marxist circles, the ways of their formation, and on the example of the biography of E.V. Torsueva-Bystritskaya reveals the role of the middle-class class in the
process of political development of the Don region.
Discussion: The conclusion and generalizations in the article are based on the corpus of historical documents that are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, in particular, documents from the State Archive of the Rostov Region and the Center for Documentation of the Modern History of the Rostov Region.
