The Role of the Local Press of the Rostov Region in Mobilizing the Population to Fight the Enemy in the Initial Period of the Great Patriotic War
The article is devoted to the study of the influence of the periodical press of the region on the public mood of the Soviet population. The importance of the local press for residents in the conditions of occupation and lack of awareness about events in the country and the world is indicated. The need to study the problem is also due to the fact that the press, as a powerful means of ideological propaganda, had an impact on the socio-political atmosphere of society, the formation and formation of a Soviet person and citizen in the conditions of war, associated with a change in public sentiment and a reassessment of values.
The article analyzes the general and special features of the formation of public opinion through the periodical press and the activities of agitators in the Don region. The paper gives brief conclusions about the tools of agitation and propaganda influence on human consciousness in difficult conditions of wartime. The activities of Soviet agitators and the media fell on the fertile ground of the desire to liberate their native land, survive and take revenge on the enemy, which caused more reasonable support in the mass consciousness than the usual political and ideological slogans. And the emerging image of a Soviet patriot throwing all his strength to fight the enemy helped to create the public mood necessary for the state to win the war.
