Linguocognitive Mechanisms for Transformation of Social Conceptual- Valor System Through Political Metaphors

The comprehensive analysis of political cognitive metaphors offered in this item allows arriving at solving questions regarding the complex interaction of source-target spheres in the political discourse manipulative. The authors conclude here that
within political discourse, metaphorized statements can perform completely opposed manipulative functions, both in terms of shaping, and destroying the generalized image implemented in the coordinate space of the recipient’s evaluation.
The representation of various ontological objects in precedent explicators within the conceptual political metaphor allows legitimizing the components of the source sphere that are often incompatible – in their usage – with the projection in the target
sphere. The mechanisms behind the development of metaphorical transference in political communication are not only determined by a specific interpretive space, yet they themselves categorize common ideas, which are borrowed when creating a political metaphor from the source sphere into a continuously expanding system of political images, legitimizing metaphorical expansion into all spheres of human life.
