The Specificity of the Symbolism of Zoonyms in Russian and Kabardino-Circassian Phraseology and Paremics

The paper analyzes set units containing zoonyms. The main emphasis is put on the names of those animals that have a symbolic background in both Russian and Kabardino-Circassian cultures. The connotation and associative meaning of these animals is provided for the visual translation of their place in the compared languages and cultures. The article considers the presence of zoonyms with symbolic meaning in some literary works and epics. The analysis takes into account the historical and cultural context, which makes it possible to compare the phenomenon of symbolism of the zoonyms in the article.
