Borrowed Interjections in the Modern Kabardian-Circassian Language
Lexical borrowing is a clear evidence of interrelations and mutual influence of different languages. Such traces are discernible in the lexics of the Kabardin-Chircassian language.
The main purpose of the research is the analysis of interjections of the Kabardin-Chircassian language in order to discover their nativity. With that aiim it is necessary to review borrowed interjection, define their original source, describe their modern status in the Kabardin-Chircassian language, discover the methods of borrowing.
Foreign words in the Kabardin-Chircassian language were borrowed during the non-written period with significant phonetic transformations. After alphabetisation, grammar and orthography rules were taken into account with the aim of keeping the basis of the borrowed word before adapting its flections.
It is determined that the speakers of the Kabardin-Chircassian language use a lot of words borrowed from different languages.
The words are mainly borrowed from Russian, however, a lot of phrases from the Arabic and Turkish languages have come into general use due to islamisation. Nowadays, a lot of English, German, French words, as well as words from other languages come into use in the Kabardin-Chircassian speech via the Russian language. It is discovered that foreign words come into a language in three ways: with no change of the original phonetic structure; partial changes and contractions; interjections with phonetic changes are made out of borrowed phrases and collocations.
