(Kabardino-Balkarian State University named by Kh.M. Berbekov)

stated that the abolition of the Center of the Caucasian Line was a consequence of the actions of the Caucasian governor A.I. Baryatinsky on the reorganization of the Caucasian line. It is noted that the process of deconstruction of the Center was lengthy and was provided with a large amount of documentation. Based on regulatory documents, three stages of the Center's abolition were identifi ed. It is noted that the process of deconstruction was accompanied by administrative-territorial changes and personnel changes. It is concluded that the deconstruction of the Center completed a long process of development of military administrative institutions in the Central Caucasus, based on fortresses and fortifi cations. In addition, it is indicated that the documents accompanying the abolition of the Center may be useful for clarifying information about the administrative-territorial changes in the region and some aspects of it’s socio-political history.
