Undoubtedly, one of the leading factors that have a noticeable impact on the speed and quality of the acculturation process of foreign students is learning in a language environment. Communication on Russian language outside of the audience accelerates the process of getting acquainted with Russian culture, history, traditions and customs, etiquette. The reasons for refusing to use the possibilities of the language environment in the accelerated formation of communicative and socio-cultural competencies, first of all, lie in the national mentality and character, ethnopsychology and psychotype of the national personality. In recent years, Russia
has seen a signifi cant increase in students from China. In addition to diffi culties with the formation of communicative competence, there are undoubtedly problems with the acculturation of students from China. Among the obstacles to the acculturation process, it should be noted not only the above extralinguistic factors, but also the linguistic ones themselves. First of all, we are talking about
the phonetics of the Russian language, in the study of which students from China face many diffi culties and, as a result, have significant problems with pronunciation. Difficulties with the correct pronunciation of a large number of sounds of the Russian language make the speech of Chinese students incomprehensible and lead to the fact that they are afraid to engage in acts of communication with native speakers in Russia. Thus, good knowledge of phonetics and work on the pronunciation of Russian sounds are the basis for the acculturation of Chinese students.
