The Role of State Farms and Food Enterprises of Kazakhstan in the Reproduction of Food Resources during the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945)

Establish the role of Kazakhstan as a resource and supply base for replenishing food supplies for the Red Army and major industrial regions of the USSR. The author used the method of source studies to solve the scientifi c problem. The source base for this work consists of works by Soviet, Russian and Kazakh authors, as well as information from the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the history of the Great Patriotic War.
The paper shows the measures taken by the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (b) during the initial period of the war to provide the country with food and agricultural raw materials, due to the temporary loss of some agricultural areas, due to the occupation by German troops of the western republics of the USSR.
The statistical indicators of state farms and branches of food industry in Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War are revealed.
The conclusion is drawn that the high production fi gures of the state farms and enterprises of the Food Industry of the Kazakh SSR
were due to the circumstances of the war, the need for uninterrupted supply of agricultural products to the Red Army and large industrial
regions of the country. On the whole, the food industry of the Kazakh SSR coped with the task set by the government, and
its results became a certain contribution to the achievement of the USSR victory over Germany.
