Features of the English Language Functioning in African Countries
The article deals with the linguistic analysis of the adaptation of the English language as a means of communication in African countries. This article is devoted to the emergence, development and rooting of the English language in African countries. The aim of the study is to conduct a linguistic and cultural analysis of the variable English language in Kenya to determine changes in the vocabulary and phonetics of the language. Special attention is paid to the influence, as well as the relationship of local languages with English. Phonetic and grammatical features of Kenyan English are subject to consideration. The lexical component is analyzed, namely the presence of slang, representing realities in Kenyan English. Linguistic and cultural methods formed the basis of the study. As a result of the research,
