Some Ideas of the "Russian Dictionary of Language Expansion" by A.I. Solzhenitsyn

The article gives a brief comparative analysis of the "Russian Dictionary of Language Expansion" by A.I. Solzhenitsyn and the "Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language" by V. Dahl, it is shown that the language is exposed to various factors, therefore there is an urgent need to preserve the originality and purity of Russian speech, and in this context the study of the "Russian Dictionary of Language Expansion" plays a very important role.
Despite the fact that the term “language expansion” is relevant in modern linguistics, it has never received an interpretation that covers all its conceptual features. We consider the works of domestic and foreign researchers covering the linguistic aspects of the work of A.I. Solzhenitsyn (Jorge Niva [1992], V.M. Shvetsova [2000], I.Yu. Malygina [2016], O.V. Nikitin [2021], etc.).
The analysis of lexicographic material revealed some similarities and differences between the dictionaries of A.I. Solzhenitsyn and V.I. Dahl. We have concluded that this lexicographical work can be fully considered a full-fledged dictionary of the Russian language. It meets all the criteria of an explanatory dictionary and is of great importance not only for specialists in a narrow field, but also for the average reader.
Alexander Isaevich allows the user of the dictionary not only to independently understand the meaning of a particular word, but also to apply it in practical activities.
