The Institute of the Family: Current Trends in Discourses

This article presents current trends in the discourses of the family institution and examines their degree of development. It was revealed that the main trend in the discourse of the family institution includes issues related to the reproductive function of the family. The formation of this trend is directly related to the urgency of the problem of the demographic crisis and the crisis in society. The next trend in the discourse is the study of the methodology and methods of family problems related to the clarification and systematization of the conceptual apparatus, which is undoubtedly important in connection with the transformations of the family institution. The third trend in the discourse of the family institution is associated with research into the life attitudes of young people in relation to marriage and family. Significant current areas of problems of the family institution include issues of interethnic marriages; social support for families.
Insufficiently developed, in our opinion, despite their high relevance, are the issues of raising children, parenthood: paternity and maternity, intergenerational connections, issues of family and health, family and career.
