Financial Support for the Activities of the Mozdok upper Border Court in 1793–1822

The article is devoted to the study of the features of financial support for the activities of the Mozdok upper border court in 1793–1822. To do this, his office documentation was analyzed: report registers and books for recording incoming and outgoing correspondence, punctures of the court's clerk and expense, the report of the chairman of the court and the orders of the Commander-inChief of the troops in the Caucasus, etc. The channels of expenditure by the court of state funds are characterized, the offi cial salaries of its employees and staff are determined, the procedure for documenting the movement of funds through the court is considered, the main directions of its interaction with the treasury chamber are studied, etc. The channels of cash fl ow received by the court from income-generating activities are identifi ed and characterized. It is concluded that the fi nancial support of the Mozdok upper border Court at the expense of the Russian treasury in 1793–1822 was one of the main guarantors of the expansion of the apparatus of the
Russian state on its southern outskirts and laid down a certain model in which the institutions of local judicial and administrative
control functioned in the future.
