The Role of the Red Army Sanitary Services in Preventing the Spread of the Plague and Tularemia in the Troops during the Battle for the Caucasus (1942–1943)
The article is devoted to the study of an issue related to the role played by the leadership of the Main Military Sanitary Directorate, the sanitary services of the fronts, armies, units and units of the Red Army that participated in the battle for the Caucasus during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, in preventing the spread of in units and units of the Soviet troops in the North Caucasus and Transcaucasia, such dangerous infectious diseases as plague and tularemia. The author relies on the results of research conducted by historians and medical workers, reference data, analyzes the content of previously published and unpublished archival documents, memories of participants in these events, and periodical press materials. Analyzing the content of a set of measures for the prevention and treatment of these diseases in the troops, he draws conclusions about the timeliness of their implementation,
