The Main Directions of Activities of the Kabarda Provisional Court's Executors in Combating with Abrechestvo in the Second Quarter of the 19th Century
In the second quarter of the 19th century, abrechestvo was a negative phenomenon for the Russian authorities and was an crime under Russian law. In this regard, the fight against abreks was one of the main functions of the Kabarda Provisional Court.
Therefore, as the main enforcers of judicial decisions of this institution, executors performed a large amount of work to counteract abreks. The purpose of the article is to outline the main activities and the role of executors in counteracting abreks. The task of the article is to highlight and analyze the executor's functions in relation to abrek. The article uses problem-chronological, historicalsystemic methods and institutional approach. The study revealed that the functions of executors in this sphere included functions in relation to the property of abreks, their families and subordinates, as well as functions in relation to those suspected of having ties
with abreks. As a result, the analysis of the selected groups showed that the function of the executors in relation to the abreks was of
absentee and preventive nature. Executioners didn't interact directly with persons offi cially recognised as abreks, but only performed
their duties in relation to their family members, subjects and property remaining in Kabarda, as well as arresting persons suspected
of having links with them or harbouring them.
