(The Institute for the Humanities Research — Affiliated Federal State Budgetary Scientific Establishment “Federal Scientific Center “Kabardian-Balkarian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences”, Nalchik)

Аnalyzes the lexical composition of the Mozdok dialect of the Kabardino-Circassian language.
The study is conducted on new field material. For the first time in several decades, diagnostics and systematization of dialect terms in comparison with the literary language are carried out. As the study showed, dialectal differences are observed in phonetic, lexical, word-formation, and semantic plans. The results obtained showed that the language of the Mozdok Kabardians contains many words that are not used
in the speech of the inhabitants of Kabardino-Balkaria, and many borrowings from different languages that have entered the everyday vocabulary of the Mozdok people are also found. They are accepted by the language in two ways: in their original form or with some phonetic changes.
