Directions of Economic and Social Development of the Cities of Kuban and the Black Sea Region in the 1920s and 1930s

The main directions of economic and social development of the cities of Kuban and the Black Sea region in the 1920s and 1930s, as well as the initial level of economic development, demographic indicators of the development of the cities of Kuban and the Black Sea region are determined. The environmental problems of the region’s cities and obstacles to their development in the context of the new economic policy have been clarifi ed. The priority directions of the cities of the Kuban and the Black Sea region in the conditions of industrialization in 1929–1937, the differences in the development of cities in the studied region during the fi rst and second five-year plans, as well as in comparison of steppe and coastal cities are
established.
