To the Modern Conception of Teaching the Language of Science to Foreign Students at the Pre-University Level of Education

The article explains the need of creation of the modern conception of teaching the language of science to foreign students at the pre-university level of education in the context of new pedagogical conditions. The authors consider the basic constructors of the teaching contents is the system of general scientifi c concepts and profi le vocabulary represented by the structure of concept sphere and served for acquisition of a professionally focused competence. The decisive factor of the conception is the competencetive sense creating approach and integrative character. It is obvious that the approach to a problem of training in the language of science at the pre-university stage should not be linguistic, which contradicts the integrative character of a subject. Instead of this it should be general-scientifi c, general-pedagog ical, making it possible
to see the language of science as the interconnected system of scientifi c concepts which has to become the most important construct of the content of training. The content of teaching material should include the system of the tasks developing and forming general scientifi c and most common professional concepts, namely: differentiation of essential and minor signs, interpretation of concepts, for mulation of defi nitions, exemplifi cation, construction of concepts and generic terms, etc. At this approach the realization of the language of science function as a means of knowledge acquisition, means of gaining a qualifi cation is possible. The authors represent a modern teaching complex the basic part of which is the text book of communicative, professionally focused modular organization. The suggested technology is enabling to intensify
development of communicative competence, cognitive process and trainer’s sense sphere.
