The Ethnic Factor in the Gender Processes: Family-Marriage Relations
This article considers the peculiar influence of ethnical factor upon family and marriage relations and gender-related processes, including an uncommon effect – of the "gender family relations’ forms”; the aspects of the ethnological science’s current state in culture and the ethnic culture, preventing the objective investigation of the gender phenomena and their role in the ethnos existence.
The current stage of social history is characterized by the intensification of the mainstreaming of identity in all modes of existence - civilizational, cultural, political, axiological - orientational. The gender problematics, despite the undoubted successes of a number of studies (based on a systematic-sociological approach, modern achievements of human biology, psychology, theoretical medicine in particular) is still observed primarily from a position of liberal philosophy of personal freedoms, "gender self-determination", social construction of gender through some universalistic dimensions. The pointed approach is characterized by the fact that, in its frames of determination of gender relations problematics by the ethnic factor in real research practice anyhow transfoms into the issues of historicity of gender models and gender family relationships, family - demographic relationships, and futher on into the level and extent assessment of their "arhaic” or "modern" nature in the social and cultural space of one or another ethnic group.
According to the author, nowadays the gender conflict lies not only in the change of a family and marital relations image. The woman, becoming today a new personality, makes changes in the sexual and social life of the couple. Another peculiar feature of the modern development of a gender interaction in family relations is the increasing influence of culture on perceptions of women and
their status.
